TDSB Approves 2024-25 Operating Budget - At the Board Meeting on June 13, Trustees approved a $3.5 Billion operating budget for the 2024-25 school year that prioritizes investments in key areas that directly support TDSB students. Learn more.
Toronto Public Health Vaccine Updates - Ontario's Immunization of School Pupils Act requires all students (both in-person and virtual) to be up-to-date with vaccines or have a valid exemption. For information about Community Vaccine Clinics for Virtual Students and School Immunization Program (Grade 7 and 8), read the TPH parent/guardian messages.
Excellence Awards 2024 Recipients Announced – Earlier this month, we honoured 20 Excellence Awards Recipients. From pioneering robotics education to supporting students with special needs in creating a schoolwide lunch program, these staff go above and beyond. Mayor Olivia Chow was honoured with the inaugural Alumni Achievement Award.
Summer Well-Being Guide - Check out the 2024 Summer Well-being Guide for resources, community connections, and ideas for students and parents/guardians/caregivers to promote mental and physical wellness. It is accessible and available in 23 languages.
School Year Calendar - Before students leave for the summer break, just a reminder that the first day of classes for the 2024-2025 school year is Tuesday, September 3, 2024. View the School Year Calendar here.
Cell Phone/Mobile Device Use in Schools - The TDSB is currently revising its Code of Conduct to reflect new guidelines from the Ministry of Education about cell phone/mobile device use in schools as per PPM128: The Provincial Code of Conduct and School Boards Codes of Conduct. Visit the TDSB website to learn more about the new requirements and restrictions around cell phone/mobile device use in schools, effective September 1, 2024.
Phased-in Start for Student Transportation - The Toronto Student Transportation Group will once again be implementing a phased-in start for the 2024-25 school year. Starting Tuesday, September 3, transportation will begin for students with special education needs (excluding those in the gifted program) who travel to school on minibuses, minivans, taxis and wheelchair-accessible vehicles. Bussing for all other eligible students will begin on Monday, September 9, pending driver availability.
Student Transportation Parent Portal - Parents/guardians/caregivers with children who take the bus to school are encouraged to sign up for the Student Transportation Parent Portal to access important information and updates. Note: You must register for the portal with the email address on file at your child’s school. Contact support@torontoschoolbus.org for any issues with the registration process.
