This month staff and students at Balmy Beach Community School celebrated TDSB Pride with a morning of dancing, flag waving, and joy!
Staff and students wore pride colours to create the original 1978 Pride flag on their school field. Friday's celebration was part of a month of in-class learning, and was designed to showcase the school's pride, allyship and respect for 2SLGBTQ+ communities. A parent volunteer captured all the fun via drone camera.
Acting Principal Vu Lam said of the day; "Reflecting and learning about Pride and 2SLGBTQ+ identities are an important part of human-rights education in the TDSB and I'm so proud of the work our staff and students have been doing to make Balmy Beach an inclusive and accepting environment for all. Happy Pride everyone!"
