2023 Director’s Annual Report Released - Director Colleen Russell-Rawlins shared the latest Director’s Annual Report at the January Board Meeting. TDSB Approves Historic School Repair Plan
The Capital Revitalization Strategy will address challenges posed by aging school buildings, with safety, accessibility and energy efficiency and sustainability as priorities, and aims to have no school buildings classified as “requiring extensive improvement” by 2035. African Heritage (Black History) Month - The TDSB celebrates African Heritage (Black History) Month in February. Chinese Heritage Month - TDSB’s Chinese Heritage Month is proudly recognized in February each year. This year we celebrate the Year of the Dragon: Majesty, Brilliance, Confidence, Leadership. Learn More.
English Kindergarten Registration is Now Open - TDSB schools provide a rich learning environment for all children to learn and grow. Registration for English Kindergarten programs begins in February. To attend Junior Kindergarten in September, children must turn four-years-old by December 31. To register for Senior Kindergarten, children must be five-years-old by December 31. First Nations, Métis and Inuit Student Secondary ID Clinic - The Urban Indigenous Education Centre has organised an ID clinic for secondary First Nations, Métis and Inuit from across the TDSB on Tuesday, February 13 from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Register here.
TDSB Budget Consultations - Over the next few months, Trustees and staff will be working together to establish a budget for 2024-25. Public consultations are an important part of this budget process and we want to hear from you! Visit the budget website to learn about opportunities to participate in the budget process in mid-February.
PA Day Information - During the school year, school staff participate in a number of Professional Activity (PA) Days. Beginning in 2023-24, boards of education are now required to publicly share information at least 14 days in advance, as outlined in Policy and Program Memorandum (PPM) 151. Family Day 2024 - Remember that Monday, February 19, 2024 is a province-wide statutory holiday and there will be no classes. Family Day occurs on the third Monday in February each year to celebrate the importance of families taking time to be together.
PA Day Rescheduled Due to Solar Eclipse - The PA Day originally scheduled for Friday, April 19, 2024 has been rescheduled and will now occur on Monday, April 8, 2024,due to potential safety concerns with regard to a rare total solar eclipse on April 8. Learn more.
