The Urban Indigenous Education Centre has organized an ID clinic for First Nations, Métis and Inuit students in Grades 9 - 12 from across the Toronto District School Board on Tuesday, February 13 from 10:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m.
Indigenous students will have the opportunity to:
- Access Service Canada (Social Insurance Number - a Birth Certificate is required and photo ID)
- Inquire about information about Canadian Banks and opening a bank account
- Learn how to access multiple options to obtain ID such as Purple ID card (Ontario Photo Card), Birth Certificate, Passport.
- Get Toronto Police Check though TDSB (ID is required for this service)
- Find out about employment opportunities for summer and beyond.
- Get support in navigating Indian Affairs for lost, stolen, renewal of Indian Status Card
The ID Clinic will take place at the Urban Indigenous Education Centre, 16 Phin Avenue, Entrance #5. Registration is required, please be signed into your TDSB account when registering.
