The electronic translation service on the Toronto District School Board website is hosted by Google Translate, a third party service. The TDSB does not guarantee or warrant the reliability, accuracy or completeness of any translated information.
The quality of the translation will vary in some of the languages offered by Google. Google Translate is a free service and currently offers translation in over 100 languages, but does not capture all languages or dialects.
The basic translation goal is to capture the general intention of the original English material. Before you act on translated information, we encourage you to confirm any facts that are important to you or may affect any decisions you make.
The Toronto District School Board is committed to equity and community engagement, and by providing this tool, we are making our information more accessible to families whose first language is not English.
Originally built in 1960, Lynngate Junior Public School is situated in Agincourt. Lynngate became a junior school in 1969 with the opening of John Buchan Sr PS. We have 175 students from around the world, particularly China and Sri Lanka. Many students are English Language Learners. Lynngate shares its facility with the YMCA Daycare. We also receive some students from the Good Sheppard Daycare, on Birchmount Avenue. Our Mission Statement: Each member of the Lynngate family - community, home, and school - is committed to educate every child in its care by providing the skills, knowledge, and values necessary for individuals to be capable, healthy and responsible participants in Canadian society.
Code of BehaviourOur Code of Behaviour is rooted in the responsibilities of a democratic society It outlines the responsibilities of all members of the valuable partnership between staff, parents/guardians, and students. It commits us to assist all students in developing an appreciation of learning, respect and caring for self and others, a sense of belonging and social responsibility. Our monthly Gator Gatherings focus on the TDSB Character Development Attributes and worthy students are awarded with certificates and their photos are displayed on our slide show is the main hallway. We embed Indigenous Education into our curriculum with a focus this year on the Seven Grandfather Teachings and Oral Storytelling.
