Alexander Brown, Trustee for Ward 12 (Willowdale), was elected as Chair of the Toronto District School Board (TDSB) during this afternoon’s Special Board meeting.

Alexander Brown has served the Willowdale community as Trustee since 2014.

He currently sits on the following TDSB committees: Governance and Policy Committee, Special Education Advisory Committee, Environmental Sustainability Community Advisory Committee, Equity Policy Community Advisory Committee, LGBTQ2S Community Advisory Committee, Urban Indigenous Community Advisory Committee, and the Toronto Lands Corporation Directors.

Quick Facts:

• This afternoon’s election took place after former Chair Robin Pilkey, Trustee for Ward 7 (Parkdale High Park), announced that she would be stepping down as Chair. Robin will continue to serve as a Trustee for Ward 7.
   
• Alexander Brown will serve as Chair of the TDSB effective immediately. The current term ends on November 14, 2020.
