The safety of our students and staff is most important to us. Part of that commitment and responsibility is the testing of the quality of our drinking water in every one of our 583 schools to ensure that every student, every member of our staff, and every person visiting our schools can safely consume drinking water.
All Ontario school boards test school drinking water in accordance with the Ontario government’s Ontario Regulation 243/07 (Schools, Private Schools and Child Care Centres).
For the very first time, the Toronto District School Board is going to post on every one of its 583 school websites that school’s Safe Drinking Water Test Results to align with Our Open Data Policy. The data are for the year 2020. For example, if you want to see the Safe Drinking Water Test Results for a school for the year 2020, you can now visit a school’s website and find this information. It is easy and convenient to access. By posting the data to individual school websites – Find Your School – and providing a link on its Open Data Webpage for the year 2020 test results, the TDSB is fulfilling its commitment to transparently provide this information on an annual basis for all parents, students, staff and other community members to see online.
We invite our school communities – parents, staff, and students – to review the Q&As to help you better understand the data for your school.
