Thanks to a generous donation from Danby Appliances, 500 air purifiers will be installed in TDSB schools and classrooms starting this week. The air purifiers will be installed in 37 TDSB schools. The schools were identified by TDSB staff because they do not have mechanical ventilation systems in place and are in the highest risk neighbourhoods for COVID-19 transmission, as identified by Toronto Public Health.

As you can see in this picture from Charles E Webster PS today, the delivery and installation of these air purifiers from Danby is now underway! 

In addition to this donation, the TDSB is currently looking to source additional air purifiers/HEPA filters to use in other classrooms without mechanical ventilation or with limited ability to provide fresh air. Once these units are procured, they will be installed in schools based on need.
