The TDSB is kicking off lots of ways to enhance the digital literacy and citizenship of students and educators across the Board as part of Digital Literacy Week in Toronto!

This week, led by the City of Toronto and Toronto Public Library, aims to raise awareness of the continued importance of digital skills. The focus in the TDSB will primarily be digital citizenship and will be highlighting programming, content, tools and resources for staff and students.

In the TDSB, more than 110 schools with nearly 3,000 students are planning participating in Virtual Field Trips (VFT) where people from anywhere can virtually drop into a classroom to talk about a variety of topics. These VFTs are being hosted by expert speakers from across North America with partners that include ISTE, MediaSmarts, Digital Human Library, VROC, U of T, Humber College, and more.

There are also six exploration classrooms for educators to enhance their knowledge through observation of both students and educators; and a number of exciting new classroom lesson plans to enhance students’ digital literacy.

Follow along on the learning using hashtag #TDSBdigcit and visit the Toronto Public Library’s website to learn about ways families can participate in learning, too.
