The Toronto District School Board community was saddened to hear of the death of Dr. Edward (Ned) McKeown, a long-serving educator who was a part of the Toronto Board of Education (one of the TDSB's legacy boards) for 33 years, including 15 as its Director of Education and then four as the Director of the Metropolitan Toronto School Board from 1990-1994.

We know that everyone who worked with Ned over the years and knew him personally joins us in expressing our sincere condolences. Ned was an incredible educator who will be missed dearly by friends, family and colleagues in the education community.
