International Baccalaureate

Update on IB Fees:

On August 6, 2020, TDSB Trustees approved a motion to eliminate the $1,500 fee for the 2020-21 International Baccalaureate (IB) Program. Refunds will be issued to families for 2020-21 fees that have already been paid, and all upcoming instalments payments will be suspended or refunded. Eligible students who are interested in registering for the program can contact their school’s guidance counsellor for more information. The deadline to register is August 21, 2020.


The TDSB is proud to have a number of authorized International Baccalaureate (IB) Schools.  The International Baccalaureate Organization (IBO) is a recognized leader in the field of international education, encouraging students to be active learners, well-rounded individuals and engaged world citizens.

The Diploma Program is for students aged 16 to 19 and is a demanding two-year curriculum leading to final examinations and a qualification that is welcomed by leading universities around the world.

This program includes a curriculum, pedagogy and student assessment appropriate to the age range, professional development for teachers and a process of school authorization and evaluation.  

The International Baccalaureate Mission Statement:
The International Baccalaureate Organization (IBO) aims to develop inquiring, knowledgeable and caring young people who help to create a better and more peaceful world through intercultural understanding and respect.  To this end, the IBO works with schools, governments and international organizations to develop challenging programs of international education and rigorous assessment. These programs encourage students across the world to become active, compassionate and lifelong learners who understand that other people, with their differences, can also be right.

IB Learner Profile
IB programs promote the education of the whole person, emphasizing intellectual, personal, emotional and social growth through all domains of knowledge.
