da Vinci School

da Vinci School is a fully public alternative school within the Toronto District School Board, We serve approximately 90 students from Junior Kindergarten to Grade 6 and are housed on the third floor of Lord Lansdowne Public School.
Our goal is to meld best practices from the Waldorf tradition with effective learning and teaching practices from the Ontario Ministry of Education and Toronto District School Board expectations.
Our program is based on three pillars for learning: Oral Narrative, Outdoor Learning and Arts-infused learning.
The mandate of the school, as passed by the Toronto District School Board in March 2009, is a school inspired by "the ideas and ethical principles of the Waldorf approach to learning."

da Vinci and Lord Lansdowne students join for recess, lunch and special concerts, presentations and performances by visiting artists. Students have the opportunity to participate in Lord Lansdowne clubs, choirs and musical programs. As well, individual classes may work together on joint projects in the arts or in one of the subject areas. The administration team for da Vinci and Lord Lansdowne Public Schools is Kristin McDonald (Principal) and David Gilmore (Vice Principal).
