Our HistoryPerth Avenue Public School opened in 1889 as Irving Avenue Public School, a four-room two-storey structure at the corner of what was then called Irving Avenue and Churchill Street in the far western reaches of the 55 year old City of Toronto. As the area population grew so did the school. In 1890, a kindergarten was built and five years later due to the street name changes, the school's name was changed to Perth Avenue Public School. Additions were added in 1907, 1908, 1914, 1918 and 1946 as enrolment increased. In 1965, a new Perth Avenue Public School was built and in 1978 the final renovation to include the addition for St. Luigi was completed.
