Google Translate Limitations Disclaimer
The electronic translation service on the Toronto District School Board website is hosted by Google Translate, a third party service. The TDSB does not guarantee or warrant the reliability, accuracy or completeness of any translated information.
The quality of the translation will vary in some of the languages offered by Google. Google Translate is a free service and currently offers translation in over 100 languages, but does not capture all languages or dialects.
The basic translation goal is to capture the general intention of the original English material. Before you act on translated information, we encourage you to confirm any facts that are important to you or may affect any decisions you make.
The Toronto District School Board is committed to equity and community engagement, and by providing this tool, we are making our information more accessible to families whose first language is not English.
Corvette Junior Public School is a large community-based school, drawing on the many strengths of a culturally diverse neighbourhood. Open houses, student recognition assemblies, community barbecues, special events, co-curricular programs, and school volunteers are important traditions at our school. The origin of the school's name comes from the significant contribution the Corvette ships made to the Canadian Navy in the 1940s. Our school is committed to educating every student in our care by providing a learning environment that promotes the development of academic skills and knowledge, the growth of self-esteem, personal responsibility and the demonstration of respect and co-operation.
Corvette Jr. P.S. is a school that serves the needs of close to 600 students. We represent over 30 language groups, with the four largest groups speaking English, Bengali, Tamil and Mandarin. School partnerships include an on-site daycare program (N.Y.A.D.), a Family Resource Centre, a before school program offered through the East Scarborough Boys and Girls Club and an after school program with Toronto Parks and Recreation. As well, we offer a daily snack and breakfast program through partnerships with the Foundation for Student Success, Breakfast for Learning and members of the Toronto Real Estate Board.
