Google Translate Limitations Disclaimer
The electronic translation service on the Toronto District School Board website is hosted by Google Translate, a third party service. The TDSB does not guarantee or warrant the reliability, accuracy or completeness of any translated information.
The quality of the translation will vary in some of the languages offered by Google. Google Translate is a free service and currently offers translation in over 100 languages, but does not capture all languages or dialects.
The basic translation goal is to capture the general intention of the original English material. Before you act on translated information, we encourage you to confirm any facts that are important to you or may affect any decisions you make.
The Toronto District School Board is committed to equity and community engagement, and by providing this tool, we are making our information more accessible to families whose first language is not English.
Yorkview Public School is located in the Willowdale community, east of Bathurst Street and south of Finch Avenue. The school was built in 1955 and classes began in 1956. We are proud recipient of the Platinum Certification as an Eco-School for the past 8 years, and were chosen as an Eco Demonstration School. We honour inclusion, community building and student voice, and we strive to embed these in the daily learning and teaching environment. We continue to focus on eco literacy, building student leadership and capacity with strong connections to Global Citizenship and Equity.
Yorkview is a dual track school offering both regular English ( JK-5)and Early French Immersion (JK-5) programs. A large library resource centre, computer lab, two gymnasiums, and two newly renovated courtyard gardens which serve as outdoor classrooms form part of the facility. A thriving childcare centre is housed in the school building. Our school serves over 400 students representing over 30 different language groups. About 65% of our students speak English as a second language.
