The electronic translation service on the Toronto District School Board website is hosted by Google Translate, a third party service. The TDSB does not guarantee or warrant the reliability, accuracy or completeness of any translated information.
The quality of the translation will vary in some of the languages offered by Google. Google Translate is a free service and currently offers translation in over 100 languages, but does not capture all languages or dialects.
The basic translation goal is to capture the general intention of the original English material. Before you act on translated information, we encourage you to confirm any facts that are important to you or may affect any decisions you make.
The Toronto District School Board is committed to equity and community engagement, and by providing this tool, we are making our information more accessible to families whose first language is not English.
Cosburn Middle School, located two blocks west of Coxwell Avenue on Cosburn Avenue, opened in 1949 as a Kindergarten to Grade 8 school. In 1950 it became a junior high school and in 1983, it was reorganized as a middle school. We are very fortunate to have an outstanding facility, maintained at very high standards by an exemplary Caretaking Staff. Our teachers, support staff, students and community members all contribute to make Cosburn a safe and nurturing environment in which to work and play. We serve approximately 525 students in Grades 6, 7, and 8 and offer a variety of opportunities for our students to get involved in our school.
We encourage the pursuit of excellence in all academic and school-related endeavours by requesting that our students take ownership rather than membership in their education. We offer Extended French Immersion, Late French Immersion, Early French Immersion, Middle French Immersion and English programs. We provide an impressive Music program for all Cosburn students. We are proud of our active co-curricular programs. We host a Student Council and many student clubs which provide: student leadership, global citizenship, social justice, as well as school and community service. Cosburn encourages parents to become actively involved in their children's education through School Council and frequent communication with our staff.
