Diefenbaker students are superstars!
John G. Diefenbaker P.S. was named after Canada's Prime Minister, who was Canada's leader from 1957 until 1963. Displayed in the main office of the school are two walking sticks that were used by John Diefenbaker. The school is an attractive two-storey building, with architectural features such as the brick archways in the library and the two Kindergarten classrooms. This school serves over 250 students representing many different ethnic backgrounds. Diefenbaker offers regular programs from Junior Kindergarten to Grade 8, as well as a Junior/Intermediate DD (Developmental Disability) Class. We have a principal, 15 teachers, 2 Early Childhood Educators, 1 Special Needs Assistant and a 0.5 Educational Assistant.

Safety continues to be one of our top priorities. Beyond the Safe Arrival Program, we implement school-wide anti-bullying initiatives to ensure a caring, safe and comfortable learning environment for all. Student leadership is also at the forefront of our school philosophy. Students are provided with a variety of opportunities to demonstrate leadership, academic excellence and personal growth through a wide variety of co-curricular activities throughout the school: class representatives on the student council, radio announcers, office helpers, kindergarten helpers, library helpers, technology team, Me to We team, sports teams, and Safety Patrollers, to name a few.
