The electronic translation service on the Toronto District School Board website is hosted by Google Translate, a third party service. The TDSB does not guarantee or warrant the reliability, accuracy or completeness of any translated information.
The quality of the translation will vary in some of the languages offered by Google. Google Translate is a free service and currently offers translation in over 100 languages, but does not capture all languages or dialects.
The basic translation goal is to capture the general intention of the original English material. Before you act on translated information, we encourage you to confirm any facts that are important to you or may affect any decisions you make.
The Toronto District School Board is committed to equity and community engagement, and by providing this tool, we are making our information more accessible to families whose first language is not English.
David Lewis Public School, named for a prominent Canadian politician, was officially opened in May 1990. On October 8th, 2013 we proudly celebrated our 25th Anniversary. We serve a culturally diverse community of 488 students from JK to Grade 8 supported by a Junior Y Daycare providing care for 85 pre-school and school age children. An active school council works co-operatively toward identified school/community goals. Our school offers an International Language Program on Wednesday evenings. Committed to excellence, David Lewis students continue to excel academically in all areas of the curriculum. Music, The Arts and Technology broaden and extend learning at our fine school.
We believe that co-operation and dialogue among students, staff, families and the community are integral in the educational process. We believe that each student is an individual with unique needs, talents and abilities. We believe that our school must model and promote mutual respect and understanding among all cultural and ethnic groups with values that transcend culture and faith while providing a challenging, safe school environment acknowledging and meeting a variety of academic, social and emotional needs.
