The electronic translation service on the Toronto District School Board website is hosted by Google Translate, a third party service. The TDSB does not guarantee or warrant the reliability, accuracy or completeness of any translated information.
The quality of the translation will vary in some of the languages offered by Google. Google Translate is a free service and currently offers translation in over 100 languages, but does not capture all languages or dialects.
The basic translation goal is to capture the general intention of the original English material. Before you act on translated information, we encourage you to confirm any facts that are important to you or may affect any decisions you make.
The Toronto District School Board is committed to equity and community engagement, and by providing this tool, we are making our information more accessible to families whose first language is not English.
Cornell Junior Public School draws on the many strengths of a culturally diverse neighbourhood and community. The school serves the needs of 750 students from Junior Kindergarten to Grade 6. The school opened in 1959 with a major addition in 1998, providing more classrooms, a double gymnasium, computer lab, music room and new library. In September 2014, four purpose-built classrooms were added to house the FDK (Full Day Kindergarten) program. Student recognition assemblies, curriculum open-houses, special events and co-curricular programs are important traditions at our school.
We would like to acknowledge that Cornell is situated upon traditional territories. These territories include the Wendat, the Anishinabek Nation, the Haudenosaunee Confederacy, the Mississaugas of Scugog, Hiawatha, Alderville First Nation and the Métis Nation. The treaty that was signed for this particular parcel of land is collectively referred to as the Williams Treaties of 1923 and applies to lands east of Woodbine Avenue. We also recognize the enduring presence of Aboriginal peoples on this land.
