The electronic translation service on the Toronto District School Board website is hosted by Google Translate, a third party service. The TDSB does not guarantee or warrant the reliability, accuracy or completeness of any translated information.
The quality of the translation will vary in some of the languages offered by Google. Google Translate is a free service and currently offers translation in over 100 languages, but does not capture all languages or dialects.
The basic translation goal is to capture the general intention of the original English material. Before you act on translated information, we encourage you to confirm any facts that are important to you or may affect any decisions you make.
The Toronto District School Board is committed to equity and community engagement, and by providing this tool, we are making our information more accessible to families whose first language is not English.
Humber Summit Middle School is located near Finch and Islington. It draws students from a large attendance area, reaching from near Islington and Steeles to Weston and Wilson. The 540 students Humber Summit serves represent diverse cultural, racial, and faith backgrounds. Our vision is based on three priorities: Student Achievement, Parent and Community Engagement and Financial Stability. We will use the School Effectiveness Framework as a tool to develop, implement and monitor our progress, based on an analysis of data (EQAO, CASI, DRA and Math Assessment). By using this framework we will be able to implement a more strategic approach, an intentional allocation of resources and equity of outcome for all students.
Our programs are designed to foster the development of the whole student. Key components are:Literacy, including Literacy Enrichment Academic Program (LEAP) and English as a Second Language (ESL); Numeracy, and Science a rich arts experience in Visual Arts, Instrumental Music, and Drama personal and social development through Health and Physical Education, as well as social skills, career education, and Student Leadership programs a safe school environment involving our Code of Behaviour, Safe Arrival Procedures and the Future Aces Program.
