Lets Connect

 lets connect

Let’s Connect is a new mental health and well-being virtual series that allows us to come together to share ideas and resources. The Let’s Connect series will respond to questions and discuss wellness for parents, caregivers, guardians and students at various times throughout the school year. These conversations will be led by our TDSB Professional Support Services staff and Mental Health and Well-Being Leads.

We acknowledge parents & caregivers as important partners with TDSB. We recognize the connection between equity, mental health and well-being for all.  We prioritize equity and inclusion for all students and families from an anti-oppressive and anti-racist stance.

See below for more details about each session including speakers. Access information will be added to this page closer to the date of each session.

Transition to Summer

The pandemic has been a long and challenging journey for all of us. With optimism, we are looking forward to welcoming the warmer weather and a less restrictive summer. Let’s connect about mental health and well-being and ways to support children this summer.

This session will start with a presentation on the Importance Of Taking Care of Yourself as a Parent/Caregiver/Guardian and will be followed by an overview of the new TDSB Summer Well-Being Guide. The evening will finish with an opportunity to participate in break out rooms for smaller, more focused discussions.

The Break Out Room topics include:

  • Deeper Dive Into Taking Care of Yourself
  • Managing Anxiety
  • Practicing Mindfulness
  • Culturally Responsive Supports
  • Supporting Children/Youth With Special/Complex Needs
  • Acknowledging Loss (losses affected by COVID-milestones, daily routines, loss of loved ones)
  • Supporting Children and Youth with Mental Health Challenges
  • Let’s Have Some Fun (activity)
