Google Translate Limitations Disclaimer

The electronic translation service on the Toronto District School Board website is hosted by Google Translate, a third party service. The TDSB does not guarantee or warrant the reliability, accuracy or completeness of any translated information.

The quality of the translation will vary in some of the languages offered by Google. Google Translate is a free service and currently offers translation in over 100 languages, but does not capture all languages or dialects.

The basic translation goal is to capture the general intention of the original English material. Before you act on translated information, we encourage you to confirm any facts that are important to you or may affect any decisions you make.

The Toronto District School Board is committed to equity and community engagement, and by providing this tool, we are making our information more accessible to families whose first language is not English.

Eligibility Criteria

PSI request approvals will be based on the following criteria:

  • Community needs
  • Space availability
  • Uniqueness of program
  • Funding availability
  • Participation cost
  • Age of participants

Preference will be given to community organizations offering free or subsidized programs for children, youth and seniors. 

PSI Permit Hours
Monday to Friday: 6 p.m. to 10 p.m.
Saturday: 8 a.m. to 10 p.m.
Sunday:  8 a.m. to 3 p.m.

Program promotion
Approved PSI Summer or March Break camps will be promoted on the TDSB website. Promotion will include posting contact information and program details.

User orientation session
The Community Use of Schools Department organizes orientation sessions during the year. PSI permit holders are encouraged to attend one of the sessions. Dates and locations of the orientation sessions will be posted on the website.

Site visits
All approved PSI programs will be visited at least once during the duration of the permit.
