  • If you are seeking free English classes, enroll in our free Language Instruction for Newcomers to Canada (LINC) classes today! We have twelve locations in Toronto, and free childcare services on-site in all classrooms.
  • Professionals with international experience, education and training in Engineering, Information Technology (IT), Admin & Customer Relations, Healthcare, Accounting & Financial Services, and Sales & Marketing can continue your careers in Canada. Register into our free Enhanced Language Training program.
  • For children enrolled in TDSB schools, we have a free structured mentorship program called Welcoming Communities to help elementary and secondary school children integrate effectively into their new communities.

Job seekers in Toronto and Greater Toronto Area

  • If you are a job seeker in the Greater Toronto Area, we have seven Next-Steps Employment Centres across Toronto, Vaughan, and Mississauga. We will help you find the right job; match you with employers; and provide you with resources and supports, including information sessions for self-employment – for free.
  • In Scarborough, we have the Scarborough Centre for Employment Accessibility to help all job seekers overcome any barriers they may be facing as they pursue employment – at no cost. People who are unemployed; underemployed; with disabilities; are newcomers; are part of Ontario Works; receive ODSP; and anyone else seeking a job or wanting to become self-employed are welcome.

Youth to adults seeking to develop their skills for new paths in education, careers, employment

  • For many, pursuing a new career means building a strong foundation first. We offer a free Essential Skills Upgrading program to help adults of all ages to upgrade their English reading, writing, math and computer skills.
  • Meanwhile, youth and adults wondering how they can be a certified hairstylist in Ontario can try our pre-apprenticeship and apprenticeship hairstyling programs at Studio 500.

Community Services supports the Greater Toronto Area community to help job seekers, newcomers, youth and adults looking to improve their educational and work opportunities – at very little or no cost to individuals.

Community Services’ overarching goal is to make positive changes in people’s lives and contribute to society by supporting everyone’s well-being. Our programs, funded by the federal and provincial governments, play a vital role in building stronger communities.
