Boundary Review
On June 19, the Board of Trustees approved the expansion of the attendance boundaries of Hollywood PS and Bayview MS to include portions of the Avondale PS attendance area effective September 1, 2025. This boundary change was approved to reduce overcrowding at Avondale PS. The approved changes are illustrated in the attached maps.
Students currently attending Avondale PS and who live within impacted portions of the Avondale PS attendance area as of the end of the 2024-25 school year can stay at Avondale PS until they graduate. Siblings of students will also be able to attend Avondale PS if their older sibling is attending Avondale PS at the time that they enter the school.
As another way to reduce overcrowding at Avondale PS, the Board also approved that Finch PS and Cummer Valley MS be the designated schools for future residential developments located at 4955 Yonge Street / 19 Hollywood Avenue, 179-181 Sheppard Avenue East, 145 Sheppard Avenue East, 105 Sheppard Avenue East / 24-26 Leona Drive, 2-12 Oakburn Crescent, and 48-60 Avondale Avenue / 25-55 Glendora Avenue / 17-19 Bales Avenue, effective immediately.
