In a unique challenge, Grade 7 students from Courcelette PS were tasked with designing the next big toy, but with a twist – each design had to incorporate social responsibility alongside innovative design thinking.
Students didn’t just create toys; they developed full-fledged concepts, including mock companies, financial plans, advertisements and prototypes.
One standout prototype was a Trick Scooter with an adaptive seating option, allowing kids with mobility challenges to join their friends at skate parks. Another group designed a scooter with an attachment for service animals, while yet another created an airplane launcher made from recycled materials.
These innovative designs highlighted how creativity can come together with social responsibility to create toys that promote inclusion and environmental sustainability.
