Dear Parents, Guardians, Caregivers,
Welcome to the 2024-25 school year at the Toronto District School Board! We hope your summer has included more opportunities to relax and spend time with your child or children, and perhaps engage in one or two new activities or adventures. As we approach the first day of school on Tuesday, September, 3, we are excited to welcome both new and returning students into our school communities.
Our commitment to your child's academic success, well-being, and belonging remains at the centre of everything we do. Our dedicated educators and staff have been working hard to ensure this year is not just academically successful, but safe and filled with opportunities for personal growth and discovery.
Creating a caring and inclusive school community is a shared obligation among staff, families and students. Together, we must ensure that every student’s dignity and humanity are recognized both inside and outside of the classroom. This means speaking and acting in ways so every young person feels valued and cared for to reach their fullest potential.
As you prepare for the new school year, we encourage you to explore the valuable resources, services, and information available on the TDSB website. The first edition of TDSB Connects is packed with essential links and tools to help make your back-to-school transition as smooth as possible. Please take particular note of the changes regarding the use of mobile devices in classrooms.
Your child’s teachers, Vice-Principal(s), and Principal are eager to connect with you and collaborate throughout the year. Whether you have questions, concerns, or simply want to discuss how we can best support your child in thriving and feeling a sense of belonging, they are there for you along the way.
Here’s to a joyful, inspiring, and special school year ahead for your child(ren) and your family!
Sincerely,
Colleen Russell-Rawlins Neethan Shan
