The African Heritage Month Volunteer Planning Committee is pleased to announce that students of African Heritage graduating from a TDSB secondary school will be able to apply for the Know Your Worth Scholarship. The Scholarship provides three awards: Kujichagulia Academic Award, Kuumba Creative Award, and Umoja Leadership Award. Each award has a prize of $2,000.00. The information package explains the scholarship’s eligibility, condition, criteria, and submission requirements.
Beginning this year, students will need to use their TDSB log-in to complete the application form. The platform for the application is Microsoft Forms. Students should carefully read the details provided in the package to ensure they have all the necessary information to complete the application. Students will be able to return to the form until the cut-off date and time. Also, students can apply for more than one award. Please use the form that corresponds with award.
We would like to thank school administrators, teachers, and counselors in advance for the many ways that they have supported students. Whether it has been by being a staff referee or removing barriers allowing access to technology at school, the Committee greatly appreciates your support.
If you have any questions about the scholarship or the application process, please contact paula.mclaughllin@tdsb.on.ca.
