The young minds of Grade 4 students at Island Public School embarked on a journey of creativity to propose names for PortsToronto's new hybrid bathymetric vessel. The top three finalists from student entries included:
- Turtle Tide
- The Rock Bass
- The Speedy Duck
Torontonians were invited to vote on their favorite name for the vessel in a social media contest, with over 700 votes. Winning student, Abby D., is thrilled to introduce Ports Toronto's new hybrid bathymetric vessel, " The Rock Bass"!
We extend our heartfelt congratulations to all the students who participated in this exciting chapter in the maritime history of Toronto. The Rock Bass will be put into service in the spring of 2024.
