Welcome to TDSB Connects, an update on news and events from across the Toronto District School Board.

  1. Early French Immersion Parent/Guardian Information Sessions – This year, there will be three virtual (online webchat) information sessions for parents/guardians interested in the Early French Immersion (SK entry) application process. For more information on dates/times for each virtual online webchat session, please visit www.tdsb.on.ca/French website or click on Information Sessions.
  2. Early French Immersion (SK Entry) Application – The Early French Immersion (SK entry) application process opens on November 2 and closes on November 27. For more information or to apply online, please visit www.tdsb.on.ca/French website or click on Application Process.
  3. Grade 8 Virtual Open Houses and Information Sessions – Grade 8 students and families are invited to attend virtual open houses and information sessions (live or pre-recorded) hosted by high schools. These sessions offer important information to help make an informed decision when choosing a high school.
  4. Update on IB Fees – At the TDSB Board meeting on November 11, Trustees approved the suspension of the $1,500 program fee for the International Baccalaureate (IB) program for the 2021-22 school year due to the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic. IB fees for the current 2020-21 school year were previously suspended. Learn more about the IB Program at the TDSB.
  5. Switching into Elementary Virtual School – Requests to switch into the Elementary Virtual School prior to the next formal opportunity will be reviewed based on space availability and compassionate grounds. Learn more about criteria for switching into the Elementary Virtual School.
  6. PIAC Parent Conference – Join us on November 21 and 22 for our virtual conference for parents and school councils. This year’s theme is Ready. Set. Engage! Navigating the School Year Together. Registration is now open.
  7. COVID-19 Advisories – The TDSB provides up to date information about confirmed cases of COVID-19 in schools (students and staff). This information is easily accessible by clicking on the COVID-19 Advisories banner on the main webpage of www.tdsb.on.ca.
  8. Indigenous Education Month – November is Indigenous Education Month at the TDSB, which reminds us to centre First Nations, Métis and Inuit perspectives, histories and contemporary realities. Learn more. Follow @UIEC_tdsb.
