Parents/Guardians,

Welcome to TDSB Connects, an update on news and events from across the Toronto District School Board.

Asymptomatic Testing – The TDSB continues to work with the Local Health Integration Networks (LHINs) and testing partners to offer asymptomatic testing to our school communities. Testing options include take-home tests, mobile testing sites and on-site testing in schools. Communication will come directly from your school, but you can also read here where testing is offered weekly.

Outdoor Learning – Getting outside safely is more important now than ever. To help families and staff get the most out of the outdoors in a safe and educational way, the TDSB has launched a new outdoor learning webpage.

Human Rights – The TDSB has recently released its first-ever Human Rights Annual Report. Read it now on the Human Rights webpage, where you can also learn how to report an incident and access policies and procedures.

  • Annual Report – The 2020 Annual Report highlights important work that occurred across the TDSB last year and progress made on the Multi-Year Strategic Plan.

Parent/Guardian Check-in Survey Results – Learn more about the results and key findings from the latest staff, student and parent/guardian check-in surveys, which focussed on mental health and well-being, system operations, and health and safety at the TDSB.

Share Your Voice – The TDSB’s Equity Policy Community Advisory Committee (EPCAC) is looking for parents and community members to join the committee. EPCAC provides advice to the TDSB on matters concerning the implementation of the Equity Policy and identifies issues of broad community interest regarding equity in education, for the consideration of the TDSB and staff.

Join the Conversation – Join us on March 25 at 6:30 p.m. for a virtual screening of Screenagers Next Chapter, which explores the impact of social media and other screen time on teens’ mental health. The screening is followed by a facilitated conversation with Director Delaney Rushton. Learn more here.

Mental Health and Well-Being – As we mark the one year anniversary of COVID-19, know that we are here to help support you. You can access our online resources or visit one of our caregiver virtual drop ins with a member from our Professional Support Services team.

Greek Heritage Month – The TDSB is proud to celebrate Greek Heritage Month during the month of March.
