School of Life Experience is a small alternative school that offers a
different approach to secondary school education for students who are
committed to learning excellence. Our specialized timetable and range
of courses is available for students from Grade 11 - 12 who are at least
16 years old. We provide a caring atmosphere in a supportive,
community environment.
Regular Instructional Programs
In addition to the regular instructional program mandated by The Ontario Curriculum, our school offers optional programs. Details of these programs can be found in the Choices document available on the TDSB web (TDSB.on.ca).
School of Life Experience
Students are expected to attend regularly scheduled classes with all teachers. In order to earn a credit at SOLE, students must meet an attendance commitment for each subject, and must successfully complete assignments for the course.
SOLE helps to prepare students for university, college or the world of work. Students wishing to register at SOLE must call the Main Office.

Student Life - Where You Belong
GO TEAM
We welcome motivated students. Our program develops time management skills, discipline and personal accountability. These are skills that students will use for the rest of their lives.
Our alternative timetable is set up so that students have flexibility in their learning. Access to a computer and the Internet is required for your out-of-school work.
Every student has full-service guidance support to complete their college and university applications and help in their scholarship searches. Students should take advantage of our excellent workshops to help navigate the university and college application process. We offer career counselling and assistance in resume writing.
TDSB allows our full-time students to join local high school teams under certain circumstances. Students play hockey, soccer, baseball and rugby. Our students love our two-lane bowling alley, located in the school. In addition, we offer trips to Stratford and other experiential learning opportunities in the world of art, advertsing and film.
WHAT SETS US APART
We incorporate blended learning into all of our classrooms and offer up-to-date film and digital imaging technology in our media/communications technology courses. Our courses are interactive and dynamic. Graduates who go on to college or university return to tell us how well prepared they were academically; they tell us that our program put them a year ahead of their classmates. We are deeply involved in the university and college careers of our students, serving as mentors beyond high school.
At SOLE we are proud of our high rates of University and College acceptance. Our small size, and the close relationship we develop with students and parents, make our graduation events a powerful experience.
PARENT AND COMMUNITY ENGAGEMENT
Humanity is our community, and we live it here. We often do fundraisers and community awareness projects that extend learning beyond the classroom and into the real world. We focus on social justice, equity and diversity.
We work in partnership with students and parents to ensure student success at SOLE. We welcome parental input in our School Advisory Council.
