The property directly in front of Terraview-Willowfield P.S. is Massey Creek, one of the main tributaries for the Don River. After seven years of collaboration, fundraising and community efforts, the school's magnificent and award winning naturalization project was completed on that site and it was named Willowfield Gardens Park. A pond, an island, a bog and observation pods were created and accessible to our school population as well as to members of our geographic community. Terraview-Willowfield's commitment to its environment is reflected in the goals of our Eco Schools program.
Eco School
As an Eco School we have implemented many initiatives over the last few years such as "boomerang lunches", eco clubs, community clean-ups, monitoring of energy usage and reduction in paper consumption. Future plans include an outdoor education area for students, further greening of our yard and a student audit of our paper consumption.

GO TEAM
Many of our students will spend a decade here at Terraview-Willowfield. We make sure that they receive outstanding instruction in the classroom and a variety of activities outside the classroom. Our students go to a range of high schools such as Victoria Park, Bendale, Wexford School for the Arts, Sir John A. MacDonald or Danforth Tech depending on their academic focus and interest. Our students visit these schools to assist them in making an informed choice. Some students in grade 6 go to J.B. Tyrell for Extended French in grade 7 and 8.
WHAT SETS US APART
1. Our Staff and Community are dedicated to making sure that students arrive each day happy and excited, leave feeling safe and learn incredible things in between. This is a commitment that requires the input and involvement of every member of our school community. The sense of community and family is something that everyone who enters our building will notice.
2. We believe that every student should find activities that enrich and inspire them. That is why our teachers have partnered with Shakespeare in the Classroom, Scientists in the School and why our students visit the Harbour Front Centre, Montreal, and Kearney Outdour Education Centre for overnight trips.
PARENT AND COMMUNITY ENGAGEMENT
The TW School Council is a partnership between parents, the Principal, staff, and other members of the school community to promote participation in the affairs of the school and to support our children's learning. At each meeting, the Principal provides a school update and parent led committees such as Fundraising, Safe Schools and Community Liason also report. Fundraising has provided extra resources to enrich the school experience. Safe School Committee advocates on all aspects of a Safe and Caring School.
All parents are invited to the school council meetings. Meetings are held, at least, 4 times per year starting at 6:30 pm in the Staff Room with child minding provided.
