The staff are working towards culturally revelant and responsive pedagogy as well as implementing proven teaching strategies to prepare our students for high school and beyond.

Student Life - Where You Belong

GO TEAM

As a middle school, Charles Gordon Sr. P.S. offers unique opportunities for students.  We have a designated Science Lab for both Grade 7 and 8 students, a well-stocked library, an art studio and an auditorium with performance stage and a large gym.

Students are assigned to a homeroom teacher, but also travel on a "Rotary" basis to specialty teachers.  In addition to an exemplary academic program, students are encouraged to participate in the range of extra-curricular programs that are offered during the school year.

WHAT SETS US APART

Every year, former Charles Gordon students return to the school to visit with teachers they had during their Grade 7 and 8 years.  Students return to the school because they feel genuinely connected with the teachers who coached them along during their middle school years.  At Charles Gordon we pride ourselves on a high level of commitment to students.  The academic, social and emotional growth of our students is of primary importance to staff members at the school.

PARENT AND COMMUNITY ENGAGEMENT

Charles Gordon Sr. Public School as a Model School for Inner Cities is focused on involving both parents and members of the community within the school. We have a Community Support Worker attached to the school to help with community initiatives. We also bring in companies to support our students through the Junior Achievement Program. We believe that Parent and Community engagement plays an important role in the education of our students.
