York University partnership
Our close partnership with neighbor York
University and Ryerson embraces collaboration with a number of Faculties,
including Nursing, Education, Kinesiology, Psychology and Social Work. We also have a special relationship with York
Lions women’s and men’s varsity teams who support our students with both sport teaching
clinics and reading programs.
Honouring local experiences
SHOREHAM staff are trained in both
Restorative Practice and Trauma-Informed approaches to student well-being. At SHOREHAM, we work WITH one another to
repair harm by considering the effect of our actions on others and working
together to “make things right.”
Commitment to physical expression and well-being
Pursuit of academic excellence
We believe that a successful SHOREHAM

Student Life - Where You Belong
GO TEAM
SHOREHAM students experience a
safe, engaging and provocative learning space, led by powerful professional
educators and child development experts.
At SHOREHAM, we recognize that
some of us walk a healing path fraught with obstacles and pain, and our
training and reflection has taught us to reject immediate judgement in favour
of learning, listening, bringing empathy to bear, and working collaboratively
to build and repair relationships. We
are genuinely happy to see every student and parent walk through the entry door
each morning, and we TELL them so. At SHOREHAM, relationships and trust are the building blocks of student success and well-being.
WHAT SETS US APART
As you approach SHOREHAM school from the intersection of
Shoreham Drive and Jane St, you immediately notice the brilliant sunshine mural
proclaiming, “There is something special going on here!” This mural gently points to a literal pathway
to the entry point of the school, but also guides the community inside to a
welcoming space, a space where children and adults alike bring value and experience
and a unique voice. Upon arrival at
SHOREHAM, you immediately sense that this is OUR school, and hopefully feel
invited and motivated to contribute to this shared collaborative learning
space. Welcome to SHOREHAM everyone.
PARENT AND COMMUNITY ENGAGEMENT
The diverse voices of SHOREHAM community members are always
welcome here, whether through school council discussions, community surveys, letters/emails,
or just hallways chats and dialogues.
Administration has an open door policy for parents and guardians, and admin
and teaching staff can also be found outside and available to talk daily at
entry and dismissal.
