Beverley Heights Middle School's Mission Statement

Beverley Heights Middle School is situated in a quiet residential area in the Black Creek Community. As a triple track Middle School, we provide English, Immersion and Extended French programs for students in grades 6,7 and 8. 
Beverley Heights is a multicultural school, with over 30 languages represented in various cultural and ethnic groups from all over the world. We are proud of this diversity and celebrate the richness that it brings to our school.
Our dedicated staff works closely with parents to create a kind and caring learning environment. We are proud of our reputation as a safe and inclusive school, fostering opportunities for student success. Our mission is to ensure that all students achieve their highest level of ability.

Beverley Heights offers a balanced academic program with an emphasis on literacy and numeracy across the curriculum. In addition, we offer an extensive range of co-curricular activities that allow students to develop their social skills and leadership potential.
Our school also offers a variety of special programs for exceptional students; including congregated classes for students with Developmental Disabilities.  For students new to the country, we offer additional Literacy and Numeracy support through our LEAP Program.

French Programs at Beverley Heights Middle School

Beverley Heights Middle School offers 2 French programs:  Extended French and French Immersion. Students enrolled in these programs have had previous Extended or Immersion experiences in their Junior schools.  Core French is offered to students in the English track.
 

Students enrolled in the Extended French program commenced their study in this track at the Grade 4 level.  In addition to French Language Arts, Social Studies or History/Geography are taught in French, along with 1 or 2 areas of The Arts.
Students in the French Immersion track, started their intensive French program in Senior Kindergarten.  In addition to French, Social Studies or History/Geography, and The Arts, Mathematics is also taught in French.

Science and Technology

We offer students a hands-on approach when learning Science.  At Beverley Heights Middle School, our students remain engaged while working on co-operative projects, making connections to Science and Technology.  Safety rules and routines are regularly reviewed to ensure everyone's safety. Field trips include:Science Centre, Humber Arboretum, Etobicoke Field Centre Studies.

Nutrition Program

We are pleased to be able to offer students a Snack Program on selected days, with the help of the Toronto Foundation for Student Success. Selected staff and students are responsible for the preparation and delivery of the snack.The snack is provided 2 days per week. A small financial donation is collected from participants to subsidize the costs of the program.

Music and Art Programs

Beverley Heights MS offers students the opportunity of demonstrating their musical and artistic skills. In the music room, keyboarding, recorder and vocal instruction are taught. Through extra curricular events, students refine their performance skills for assemblies. We also emphasize artistic development by having our older students work with our Visual Arts instructors.

Library and Computer Lab Services

Beverley Heights Middle School is proud of the beautiful bilingual library, located adjacent to the main entrance of the school.  Our computer lab is also housed in this complex. Students have access to the facilities during regularly scheduled periods during the week. Work periods are also arranged by the Teacher-Librarian on staff.

Student Life - Where You Belong

GO TEAM

Our students have dedicated teachers to ensure they are successful.  We have a vibrant Physical Education program and students have many opportunities to participate or play on a variety of teams.  Beside excelling in competitions, we take pride in the sportsmanlike conduct that our teams display. 
We are an Eco school, with a silver rating.  Our students take pride in reducing, re-using and recycling.  The Student Council plans school spirit days and optional activity days with school dances, activities or assemblies.  From Art Club to Reading Club, from Movie Club to Speech and Spelling Bee competitions, Beverley Heights is a school that combines a spirit of fun and learning leaving lasting experiences for our graduates!
