Cameron Public School's Mission Statement

Cameron is a safe and caring community based school, committed to teaching the personal value of each individual and enhancing their joy of learning. Cameron Public School is located in the close-knit community west of Yonge Street and south of Burnett Avenue, new for September, 2013. 
The school first opened in 1949 and was expanded in 1953, 1954, 1968 and 1986 to include a gymnasium and additional classroom space.  A new computer lab was added in 2005.  Technology is a key area of focus.  We currently have 3 and are continuing to purchase SmartBoards to compliment classroom programming. A new state-of-art rubber floor was installed in our gym during the summer of 2010

- Incorporating literacy instruction into the content areas in the Junior Division to provide more time for direct reading and writing instruction
- Focusing on literacy in the Primary and Junior Division to promote higher order thinking skills and independence
- Implementing current research on the most effective ways to teach; use of anchor charts, differentiated instruction
- Integrating information technology into classroom programming
- Building community in our school
- Develop an understanding of social justice

About Us

The school serves approximately 328students, representing over 20 language groups. 45% of our students speak languages including: Farsi, Russian, Korean, Spanish, Chinese, Greek, Hindi, Hebrew and Turkish.
