Safe Schools

Character Education is embedded in the curriculum. It is reinforced daily through announcements, assemblies and in the classroom.

Community Partnerships

Each year our students vote to support a charity of their collective choice.  Giving, sharing and recognizing community is fundamental to Bennington Heights' core values.

Overnight Trip for Grade 6 Students

Our Grade 6 students annually take an overnight trip to Sheldon Valley Outdoor Education Centre. For many, this is the first time they have been away from home on their own! This bonding experience provides an opportunity for students to learn about the outdoors & the environment, self reliance & independence, and participate in leadership and team building activities.

WHAT SETS US APART

All of our students are welcomed to participate in school activities and programs.  We believe that the entire school is one cohesive, inclusive group that supports:

"Recognition, Respect and Responsibility"

  • Recognition of achievement, of learning, of caring and of service
  • Respect for self, for others and for the school community
  • Responsibility for one's own decisions, for the consequences of behaviour and for learning and teaching

Staff are involved in ongoing Professional Development to support our School Improvement Plan.

PARENT AND COMMUNITY ENGAGEMENT

At Bennington Heights we have two parent groups:

  • The Home and School Association
  • The School Council

This ensures parent engagement and input into the School Improvement Process and fundraising efforts.

With generous parent fundraising, our schools' current focus is integrating technology throughout the curriculum.  New hardware and interactive software will engage students  and help them develop the technological skills they will utilize in the years ahead.
