Each October, the Ontario Association of Children’s Aid Societies (OACAS) leads the provincial Dress Purple Day campaign to raise awareness about the essential role that individuals and communities play in supporting vulnerable children, youth, and families. TDSB proudly joins this movement each year to highlight the importance of ensuring safety, well-being, and access to resources to those facing challenges.
Our Professional Support Services (PSS) Team has developed a range of culturally-relevant, responsive resources available to all staff, students, and families. These materials support conversations about safety and encourage children and youth to identify their networks of support.
You can explore PSS’s #DressPurpleDay2024 campaign here, and access additional OACAS resources for teachers and educational professionals to engage students meaningfully in discussions about well-being. Let’s continue to foster an environment of care and connection for all.
