Welcome to TDSB Connects, an update on news and events from across the Toronto District School Board.

  1. Indigenous Education Month: Each November, the TDSB is proud to acknowledge Indigenous Education Month, which provides an opportunity to centre Indigenous perspectives, histories and current contexts. Learn more about this month and the important events we are recognizing throughout
     
  2. Share Your Voice: The Enhancing Equity Task Force invites you to read and comment on their draft recommendations on improving access and achievement for all students in the TDSB. Feedback is welcome until November 20.
     
  3. Bullying Awareness and Prevention Week: : Providing safe, inclusive and positive spaces accepting of all students is a priority in the TDSB. Learn more about how we’re making our schools safe.
     
  4. High School Information Nights: Starting in November, TDSB high schools will host Information Nights to help students and parents/guardians learn more about our incredible variety of schools, programs and courses.
     
  5. Early French Immersion Program: The application process for the Early French Immersion program opens on October 30 and the deadline is November 30, 2017. Applications are made the year a child is in Junior Kindergarten (or is of Junior Kindergarten age) for entry in Senior Kindergarten. It is an entirely online process.
     
  6. Parents Make a Difference Conference: Registration is now open for the 11th annual PIAC Parents Make a Difference conference. The event is on Saturday, November 25 and includes workshops, opportunities to connect with staff, parents and local agencies, and more.
     
  7. United Way Campaign: From November 1 to December 31, the TDSB will be running its annual United Way Campaign to help make a difference in our communities. There will be many events and activities, including the CN Tower Climb, throughout the campaign and you can follow along on social media with the hashtag #TDSBUnitedWay.
     
  8. Trustee Ward Boundary Review: The TDSB is undertaking a Trustee Ward Boundary Review to align with the new City of Toronto wards recently enacted by Toronto City Council. Members of the public are invited to provide feedback on the proposed options through public meetings and an online survey.
     
  9. Transportation Portal: Are you a parent/guardian of a child who takes the bus to school? Sign up now for the Transportation Portal to access your child’s transportation information online and receive email notifications of bus delays and cancellations.
     
  10. Special Education Advisory Committee (SEAC) Survey: If you are a parent/guardian of a current or former TDSB student with special needs, SEAC would like to hear about your experiences and ideas as they make recommendations on how to improve Special Education at the TDSB. Complete the SEAC Survey.
     
  11. District and Local News: Stay informed about district-wide news through TDSB Update and connect with your Trustee for local information and events.
