Pre-School Years

Your child’s education begins well before they start school. There are many things you can do to help develop your pre-schooler’s love of learning and prepare them for school.

  • Encourage your child to try new activities and experiences
  • Talk to them and ask questions
  • Communicate using your home language. This will help your child maintain your home language while developing English at school. Research tells us that a strong foundation in one language is a great asset in acquiring a new language
  • Set a daily routine with meals, activities and bedtime to help your child learn routines
  • EarlyON Child and Family Centres, designed to support your child’s early learning development
  • Socialize with other children
  • Contact your local school to learn about their regular programs and events
  • Visit the school on their welcoming day for children and families
