TDSB Healthy Schools 5k Run/Walk Frequently Asked Questions

What is the distance of the TDSB Healthy Schools 5k Run/Walk?
The run/walk is 5k but participants will have the option of finishing after 2.5k.

Do all staff, student and community members run/walk together?
There are two run/walk times. Elementary students, along with staff and community members from these schools, will run/walk at 10 a.m.. Secondary students, along with staff and community members from these schools will run/walk at 11 a.m.

Is this a timed race?
No. This event is a culmination of a year filled with healthy, active living initiatives. There are no results and/or awards for placement. A timer will be set up at the finish line so runners and walkers have an idea of their personal time.

Do runners and walkers receive any type of personal souvenir?
Yes. All participants will receive a memento to commemorate the 2016 TDSB Healthy Schools 5k Run/Walk.

Are strollers, in-line skates, skateboards and pets allowed on the route?
Baby joggers and strollers are welcome as long as you start at the back and are respectful to other participants. In-line skates, skateboards, motorized vehicles, bicycles and pets are not allowed. Service dogs and assistive devices, such as wheelchairs, are permitted.
