Health & Wellness Academy

Promoting the development of healthy and active lifestyles for students is the goal of this unique TDSB program. This whole-school approach focuses on healthy living, physical activity, and social, emotional and personal wellness.

In this Academy – geared for students in Kindergarten to grade 8 – students discover a passion for variety of health and physical activities that lead to a lifelong commitment to healthy, active living.

Students in the Health & Wellness Academy:

  • Participate in 30 minutes per day of daily physical activity that promotes healthy living
  • Learn about the connection between good nutrition, physical activity and being better learners
  • Become advocates for healthy living 
  • Enjoy lots of opportunities to participate in a variety of intramural and interschool programs

Students are part of a culture that balances academic excellence with personal leadership, character development and innovation.

There are two Health & Wellness Academies in the TDSB:

Rene Gordon Health and Wellness Academy, 20 Karen Rd, North York
Donview Middle Health and Wellness Academy, 20 Evermede Dr, North York
